A treasure awaits you: our environmental heritage can meet a variety of needs, but you will always dive into the green, wonderful, unspoilt landscape.
If we told you about all the excursions/hikes/walks around Forno Alpi Graie, we would have to make a lengthy list and we would hardly be exhaustive. There are routes suitable for families, others reserved for expert hikers, with extraordinary degrees of difficulty, travel times and landscapes.
For these reasons, we propose only some possible routes here: take them as ideas to organize your holidays based on woods, streams and enchanted lakes, in a fairytale landscape.
You can practice kayaking along the Stura di Valgrande stream, boarding a few kilometers downstream of our guesthouse, and taking part in the meetings organized by the Alpikayak association:
You will experience the thrill of descending on the sparkling water of the Stura stream, at the discovery of unknown and unexpected glimpses, braving the waves with many enthusiasts who colour the river with their canoes.
Nordic Walking e Ciaspole
The cross-country track of Val Grande is a 20 kilometers trail which starts from Chialamberto (900 meters) and ends in our village, Forno Alpi Graie (1300 meters). The route goes up the Val Grande along the course of the Stura stream, crossing a variety of magical landscapes. It has optimal conditions for nordic skiing, because of its almost constant slope and not too difficult bottlenecks. Furthermore, the tail’s north exposure guarantees good snowpack stability and makes up for the modest altitude.
You can buy the cross-country track ticket at Piazzale Otto Villaggi, Pialpetta (Groscavallo), halfway along the ski run. Here in our guesthouse, we give a free ticket to every guest who stays for two nights!
With “Rivotti” and “Ciavanis” flights, you can glide on the entire Val Grande of Lanzo, discovering its territory from a different perspective.
From “Ciavanis” it is also possible to fly in a two-seater glider accompanied by a pilot, flying over Italian Alps/Graian Alps/Italian Mountains.
The Baratonga Flyers also organize an annual event called “Paravolando”,where people with motor disabilities can experience the thrill of flying, both in tandem and independently, even in wheelchairs, thanks to the collaboration with the paragliding school Peter Pan, which since 1994 organizes gliding events for people with disabilities.
Since 1994, the Baratonga Flyers club had been promoting paragliding in the Lanzo Valleys. Baratonga Flyers are based in Cantoira, not far from our guesthouse, and there are many possible flights in/over the Lanzo Valleys
