DONKEY LIFE
Leave from Fermata with our @excursion guide who, through an easy path by foot,
will accompany you to visit the stable of donkeys that is located in our municipality. You can see the donkeys, get to know them (each one of them has a different name, and their owners know them one by one!), and pet them. You can see the milking process and buy the wonderful cosmetic products made with donkey milk.
A modern stable located in a panoramic position, in the town of Groscavallo, in the region of San Bartolomeo, with its 2000 square meters offers shelter to about seventy donkeys.
Passionate about these wonderful animals, the owners of the breeding went to Puglia to recover the last specimens of the Martina Franca breed, which at that time counted among the endangered breeds, giving a significant boost to the recovery of the breed itself. Now, in the breeding farm, it is also possible to buy foals or adult animals of the species, or other half-breeds of the Romagnolo type. The stable is also a public stud farm, authorized by the Piedmont Region; it produces and sells its own donkey milk, which is milked, pasteurized, and bottled on site. A wonderful place to visit!
The tour ends with the return to Fermata, and then, the day continues!

SHEPHERDS
AN EXPERIENCE TO KNOW THE REAL SOUL OF LIFE IN THE MOUNTAINS: THE DAILY WORK OF THE SHEPHERDS OF OUR DAYS, MILKING, AND THE PASTURES
Wake up in the morning, have breakfast at Fermata and then go up to the pasture, accompanied by the Hiking Guide, who will make you notice every element that characterizes the climb, from herbs, to the landscape, to the most beautiful views. Once arrived at the pasture, you will learn from shepherds-cheesemakers how milk is processed to make cheese. You can choose to stay on those wonderful meadows or continue the climb up to higher destinations, such as Lake Vercellina (2,432 m), the Colle della Crocetta (2,640 m), the Sagnasse lakes (2,053 m) or the Gias Nuovo Fontane (1,999 m). For lunch, a tasty picnic on the meadows of the alpine pastures, with the lunch prepared by Fermata, with mountain bread and cheeses made by the margari! You can shop at high altitude to taste the dairy products and to take away with you the products of the mountain pasture, which will prolong the emotions of this truly green experience!
The descent to the bottom of the valley is accompanied by the guide, up to Fermata. And then, the day continues!
